SUM 41

Las composiciones de Sum 41 traen nuevas soluciones al estilo pop-punk. Contando con una magnífica sección de guitarra y selecciones de rock hardcore, la banda canadiense logró conquistar su propio territorio en el rock and roll. Derick Whibley (guitarra, voces), Dave Baksh (guitarra, voces), Cone McCaslin (bajo) y el baterista Steve Jocz se convirtieron en el cuarteto responsable de intrépidas creaciones. En 1999 firmaron contrato con Island Records y lanzaron su primer EP, Half Hour Of Power, en el 2000. Después los canadienses salieron de gira, tocando en el mismo escenario con los Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Offspring y Blink-182 y obteniendo muchos elogios. Después de varios meses de tocar punk, ingresaron al estudio para grabar lo que sería su primer álbum, All Killer, No Filler. El disco fue producido por Jerry Finn junto con el ingeniero de sonido Joe McGrath. Una vez que lanzaron el disco obtuvieron muchísimos fans más, no sólo en Canadá, sino también en los EEUU.
Las nuevas estrellas del punk melódico, Sum 41, ya están pensando en continuar la buena racha con un segundo disco. Tras el éxito de su debut "All Killer No Filler", y sobre todo del single 'Fat Lip', la banda ya tiene listas seis canciones que comenzarán a grabar antes de fin de año junto al resto de las ideas que surjan antes de esa fecha. Según el guitarrista/vocalista Deryck Whibley "el nuevo disco va a ser un poquito diferente que el anterior. Habrán más melodías, unas canciones serán más lentas y otras más rápidas pero siempre con el sonido de Sum 41".
